第十六天：Thenationalflag國旗

itisthedutyofeverycitizentohonorthenationalflag.Why?Becausethenationalflagisthesymbolofa(the)country.Torespectitmeanstorespectthecountry.Inotherwords,ifamanloveshiscountry,hemustlovethenationalflag.

Inschool,thenationalflagisusuallyraisedatacertaintimeeveryday.Thentheprincipal,teachers,staffandstudentsareto(must)standbeforeitandsingthenationalanthem.Itisindeedextremelymeaningfultoattendsuchaceremony.

尊敬國旗是每個公民的責任（義務(wù)）。為什么？因為國旗是國家的象征。尊敬它意思就是尊敬國家。換句話說，如果一個人愛國，他必須愛國旗。公務(wù)員之家，全國公務(wù)員共同天地

在學校里，通常每天定時要升旗。那時，校長，老師，教職員學生教師將恭敬地站在它前面并且唱國歌。參加此項儀式確實非常有意義。

第十七天：Theimportanceofeducation教育的重要性

Itisimpossibleforustomakeourcountryrichandstrongwithoutdevelopingeducation.Why?Becauseeducationgivespeopleknowledgeandteachesthemhowtobecomegoodcitizenssoastobeabletoservetheircountry.Nowondertheysaythateducationdecidestheprogress,prosperityandcivilizationofacountry.

Atpresent(Nowadays)mostcountriesin(of)theworldareenforcingcompulsoryeducation.Itisnecessaryforallkindsofpeople,bothrichandpoor,toreceiveeducation.Taiwanisanexceptionaswellnot.

我們不可能使我們的國家富強而不發(fā)展教育。為什么？因為教育給予人民知識并教他們?nèi)绾纬蔀楹霉褚员隳転閲倚ЯΑｋy怪，有人說教育決定一個國家的進步，繁榮與文化。

現(xiàn)在世界大多數(shù)的國家都在實施強迫教育。所有各類人民不論貧富都必須接受教育。臺灣也不例外。

第十八天：Industry(diligence)勤勉

Itisamatterofcoursethatindustrywillbringussuccess,wealthandgoodluck.Iamsurethatahard-workingpersoncanalwayssucceedintheworkwhichhewantstodo.Thisisunchangeabletruth.

Idlenessistheoppositeofindustry.Itisthesourceofallevil.Anidlemanonlyenjoysplayingandmakingpleasures.Thatheisdoomedtofailureisofnodoubt.Weshouldnotfollowhisexample.

勤勉會帶給我們成功，財富和好運乃是當然之事。我確信一個苦干的人終是能夠做成功他所要做的工作。這是不易之定理。

懶惰是勤勉的反面。它是萬惡之源泉。一個懶惰的人只享受玩耍和尋樂。他命運注定失敗是毫無疑問的。我們不應(yīng)學他的榜樣。

第十九天：Mynativetown我的故鄉(xiāng)

MynativetownisX.Wehavesettleddownheresincemygrandfatherwasachild.Inotherwords,myfamilyhaslivedhereformorethanonehundredyears.

Itisasmallvillage.Thereareaboutonethousandinhabitants.Mostofthemarefarmers.Themodeoftheirlivingisverysimple.However,theyhavealreadypossessedtelevisionsetsandrefrigerators.Theymadeuptheirmindstoliveamodernlife.

我的故鄉(xiāng)是X。我們自從祖父是小孩時，就定居在此地。換句話說，我們家人在此地已經(jīng)住了一百余年了。

這個小村莊。居民大約有一千人。他們大部分是農(nóng)夫。他們的生活方式很簡單。然而，他們已擁有電視和冰箱。他們下定決心要過一個現(xiàn)代的生活。

第二十天：Myschoollife我的學校生活

WhenIwassixyearsold,Ibegantogotoschool.Thefirstschool(which)Iattendedwasaprimaryschool.Thereweremanysubjects(whichweretaughtintheschool,suchasChinese,arithmetic,history,geography,drawingandsoforth.SinceIwas(became)astudent,Istudiedveryhard.Myparentswerequiteproudofme.

AfterIhadstudiedthereforthreeyears,Ienteredajuniorhighschool.WhenIwastwelveyearsold,Ibecameastudentofaseniorhighschool.Istillstudiedveryhard.ExceptonsickleaveIwasneverabsentfromclass.Everybodylookeduponmeasamodelstudent.

我六歲的時候，就開始上學了。我第一個上的學校是一所國小。學校里教的課目有許多，諸如國文，算術(shù)，史地，畫圖等等。既然我是一個學生，我就用功讀書。我父母深以我為公務(wù)員之家，全國公務(wù)員共同天地榮。

我在那邊讀了三年后，就進入初中。我十二歲的時候，就成為一個高中的物理學。我依舊用功讀書。除病假外，我永不缺課。人人都把我看作是一個模范生。
